Jerry D. Tiberi , guitarist • Norberto I checked out Lovely Tunes. I really like your playing. I hear some if my favorite pianists in your playing yet its definitely your own sound.... Your left hand is beautiful--not busy at all ala Bill Evans. Also you have just the right amount of Monk in your playing which is a compliment. Bill Evans + Monk is what I hear in your music + Norberto. I love it!

“...The style is, at same time derived from classical concert technique and African percussion, while the armonic-melodic development tries to avoid bop cliche to create a less linear and more spaced, that bring back motif of Randy Weston, Thelonious Monk and Andrew Hill...”

Deco sample

The cd contains 14 tracks, 12 originals, "A Lonely Woman" by
Horace Silver and "We See" by Thelonious Monk. Total time 52,48 min.

  booklet Deco
It also has a beatiful paint on cover by great painter Peppo Spagnoli and a good graphic by Luigi Naro. There are 4 tracks played by Fabio Morgera, together we composed 2 that we recorded in Taranto the sad night April 2nd '05, infact we dedicated 1 of it to great Pope John Paul II and named it "Karol", totally improvvised, not written. The other 1 we composed together is "George", played in a different free mood."Deco" is the 1st tune, recorded in New York, has a theme inspired by Monk, then a Morgera's wonderful flugelhorn solo. In the guitarist Saul Rubin studio also we recorded "Come Mai", 1 original of mine with an Intro built on Balinese scale, it's like a ballad played by lirical Fabio Morgera mute trumpet. "Without" it's original, I recorded with my old trio in 2002 with a melancholy bassist Francesco Mariella solo supported by latin Francesco Guarnieri on drums. "Eruptions" is the only tune I did alone in a multitrack recording, with piano, sinthesizers, effects, was inspired by George Russel. Other tracks of cd I played solo piano: the latin "It's Ok", "Mondo Jazz" and the short slow "#3" is the last of this cd.....and I forgot the beatiful J D Allen solo on "Roxane"
