Al Workshop si sono iscritti una trentina
di partecipanti, di cui 7 uditori : 11,
saxofonisti, 7 trombettisti, 2 pianisti, 2 chitarristi, 2 batteristi ed un fisarmonicista. Si ringraziano tutti coloro che hanno partecipato ed, in particolare Otaka Akyioshi, un pianista giunto da Tokio per l'occasione. Nel “Metodo Pratico per l’ Improvvisazione”, gli autori hanno proposto agli studenti italiani un approccio che, oltre a coprire la teoria musicale dal principio fino al jazz più moderno, si distingue per semplicità di esposizione e praticità,cercando di anticipare e chiarire i più comuni dubbi ed equivoci riscontrati durante la composita carriera professionale e didattica, indirizzando verso uno studio strumentale estensivo,ma facile perché graduale e sistematico.
Da notare il rilievo dato all’acustica all’inizio dell’ istruzione teorica, alla memorizzazione degli esercizi, all' innovativo metodo della improvvisazione atonale basata sugli intervalli.

Notes
It's a 12 tunes compilation, containing 10 compositions I did and  Pannonica by Thelonious Monk. The rhythm section is fine : by  Joseph  Lepore  on bass and  Bruce  Cox on drums playing on first 6 tunes . ..J. D. Allen recorded his sax on 2 tracks with us in New York on last November. Remaining 6 tracks are in solo piano, I recorded it in Italy.
There's a strange sound tune I called "Stars in Box" in which I overdubbed my piano on a track I did with a keyboard with some koto, organ, violins and el. piano
